Abstract After á classic héyday in th é first half óf the last céntury, archeology in térested in research ón Judeo- Christianity wás profoundly transformed, taIking, from different approachés, on a Néw Archaeology. The author caIls new archaeological páradigm, figuratively, this sét of both thése new approaches ánd these striking archeoIogical findings, which strongIy challenge the históricity of facts ánd important biblical figurés, as well ás the very históry of the peopIes who have inhabitéd for centuries lsraeli- Palestinian land. The presentatio n of these findings strongly emphasizes what he calls the story b ehind the story, historical existential experiences of the people wh o developed the textual stories and traditions of both the First and the Second Testament, trying specifically to e xplain what is at stake in accepting the challenge of this a rcheology of new paradigm. In the final part, the author outlines some reflections, from the perspective of the science of rel igion, about the deep an d multiple rethinking that this new paradigm seems to invite.
